This adorable little nugget is Levi. That fluffy hair had me melting all over these gorgeous pictures! It was a cold, snowy day in Chicago. So we planned our session in his beautiful town home in Northbrook. Levi's mom, who is a Korean, decided to put him in a traditional Korean outfit. How adorable are all those bright colors against his dark hair and eyes?
You blinked and Kellen turned 6 months old. We have enjoyed seeing how much he has grown since his three-month-portrait. He has gained quite a bit of hair and is very alert. He can now sit up (more or less) and is very observant and interested in what's happening in his surroundings. His most favorite toys are his stuffed animals. I think we have an animal lover in the making!
Viola celebrated her 5th birthday with a Mermaid and Pirate themed birthday party at Emerald City Theater. Friends were encouraged to wear costume to the party where they first customize their own crowns. Then together, with the help of their instructor, created a play together where the kids had to run, swim, jump and dance. After a birthday cake break, parents are invited back to watch the spectacular performance.
And the perfect way to capture this milestone is of course with a fusion slideshow!
I photographed this gorgeous family in Chicago's Lincoln Park at two of my favorite spots in the area: the Lily Pond and the North Pond. Fall was just starting to settle into the city, so it was the perfect time for family portraits! Although the kids weren't psyched about posing, they were both troopers and did such a fantastic job. The youngest of the family, Sheri, actually goes to school with my own son and both are in the same grade, which is how I met the W Family. Reid, her brother, is a few years older and currently in the third grade. Mary and Kevin, their parents, did such a wonderful job pulling together the family's outfits - I love all the bright colors against the background of changing leaves!
Patrick, a.k.a. P3 (his grandpa is P1 and his dad is P2), celebrated his 1st birthday at the East Bank Club in Chicago last month with 90 guests who love him. The Mickey Mouse theme party featured a two-tier Mickey Mouse cake and a smash cake, a craft station for the kids to make canvas arts and a play area for the younger crowd. And for the grownups, unlimited booze food and booze are always nearby. P3 tried cake for the very first time, but he's not sure if he liked it quite yet.
Happy birthday, Patrick!
And here is a fusion slideshow highlighting the great afternoon with friends and family.
It's such a joy photographing the same family several years in a row! While last year's photos of the P family featured an adorable baby bump, this year they got to introduce me to their newest edition: Mei Mei, which means "little sister" in Chinese. Her cheerful smiles were so contagious! The morning of our shoot was pretty chilly, so all of the siblings enthusiastically planned how they were going to go home and enjoy mugs of hot chocolate. Because Bennet, the oldest of the family, was so well-behaved during the shoot and acted like such a stellar big brother the entire time, I secretly asked his mom to add an extra marshmallow to his cup!
