Throw back Thursday! I am going to show you something I have never blogged before - weddings! Despite having shot dozens of weddings in the past couple of years, I have never blogged about any of them. However, some of you who are "fans" on my Facebook page may have seen some of my wedding images. I am going to play catch up and start blogging about some of the weddings that I have done.
Today, I want to share a vacation trip that we took to the Saugatuck area of Michigan last summer, before our 2nd son was born. My oldest son had a lot of fun at the Dutch Village which is located in Holland, MI, and making s'mores with campfire in South Haven/Covert, MI. Hopefully, we can make it a yearly tradition to go every year.
For her 75th birthday, Marge got her children and grandchildren together in Chicago to celebrate in style. They booked a private room at the ROOF on the Wit where the grownups could catch up and the kids could play. The view was fabulous, the food were impeccable and, most importantly, the company was priceless.
Chicago's awesome Shedd Aquarium has created a new place where teens can come and hang out. At the Teen Learning Lab, teens are welcome to come explore about science, animals, and the natural world. There are activities such as squid dissection and paper making and composting; and lectures such as this one I photographed a couple weeks ago about "Careers in the Animal Care Profession".
The speaker is Mr Ken Ramirez who's the EVP in Animal Care and Training at Shedd.
Mr Ramirez started by telling us about how his inspiration to become a guide dog trainer led him to a passion he didn't even know - aquatic animal trainer. And the lecture turned out to be one of the best life lessons I have ever been told. I'm very grateful the Shedd Aquarium is educating our teens and helping them navigating life and to become better persons.
Teens are welcome to come and participate in the less structured activities and use their Apple computers, podcasting equipment, iPads, Adobe software... etc. when it is opened. Teen Learning Lab opens Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm - 8pm and on Saturdays from 10am - 3pm. No admission fee is required.
Congratulations to the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago for another great year of the Purple Tie Affair! Despite the snow storm, we had a great turn out. It's always fun and wild!
with "buffet comes to you" and goes right to your tummy.
